One of the most important tasks is giving lavender a light trim once the flowers have faded (usually in late summer, around August to September).
Using clean secateurs, remove the spent flower stems and cut back the current season’s soft growth by around one third, aiming to create a neat, rounded mound. Always leave plenty of green growth on the plant. Avoid cutting into old, woody stems, as lavender rarely regenerates from bare wood.
